			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Those guys were under the Articles of Confederation, and they weren&#039;t called Presidents.</p><p>We also technically weren&#039;t a real nation yet, so I wouldn&#039;t count those guys at all.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>If my memory serves me correct these guys were the presidents when the country was under the Article&#039;s of Confederation, as opposed to the Constitution. This was before the government had any real power, so they were most likely appointed, not elected. After a few years when the nation was still bunk, they decided to &quot;re-format&quot; everything. This was when Washington was elected. So technically Washington was the first President under the government we have now, because during the Articles of Confederation the country was more like the League of Nations(post WW1) than a nation.</p><p>This is probably why they were left out as being included in the list of Presidents. However, I agree that they should be at least recognized in the average US History book.</p>]]></content>
