Not sure if many of you know, but there are several internet standalone programs you download, and they require service pack 2 to be installed...   Stuff like that just pisses me off, a clean windows runs great, download the updates.. and welcome to shit heaven

The issues arise with Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2

Windows are no longer offereing updates for Pre-service pack 1 copies.

So you need to make sure you install with a service pack 1 cd-key
RHKG3-8YW4W-4RHJG-83M4Y-7X9GW

That one will work.

Then try and get your hands on a service pack 2 standalone Install file.(475mb)

Then once service pack 2 is installed...just enable automatic updates and you are home free.

of Windows XP. There is one that requires no activation, and one that does. So whether
or not you will have trouble with that depends on the version you happen to find.

Note however that if you download one without activation you will be able to get ONLY
critical updates, and only if you have auto-update enabled on your computer.
