Not that "In God we Trust" on our money is a real bother to me (or a "long standing tradition" for that matter).

Not really... figuring the majority of the population in the US is Protestant not Catholic...

Error 1: Everyone has to Swear on a Bible regardless of Faith.

This is actually a misconception of our legal system. You don't swear in on the bible. Most places don't even have you place your hand on a book at all. I am not saying some courthouses don't have the Holy Bible used to swear in on, but if so not many.

Error 2: "In God we Trust"

Though you may have a point here. I see no reason in changing a long standing tradition of the phrase, this mostly references our forefathers to begin with.. And if what Stephen Colbert says is true wink 92% of Americans believe in a God.

maybe if u made "detainees" swear on the quran to tell the truth maybe troops wouldnt end up torturing them.

I mean, if your an athiest, and you swear on the Holy Bible, it means nothing to you. Now, if the Bible has significant meaning in your life, well, I guess you better not lie. And maybe it pushes would-be christian liars into telling the truth? Can't hurt.

US legal system is a joke.

Lets not forget that the reigning judges of the US are mostly Catholic and their decisions are largely based on that of their faith rather than what is truly  correct. Of course I'm also considered the anti-christ at times so this may vary in opinion.
