And to answer browen, I learned it through a combination of television, school, and online use of language I suppose. Sadly I do not consistently spell my words in accordance with British variants. For example I am likely to spell organize with a z (American), yet with the word 'rubber' I'll refer to an eraser as opposed to a condom. (But I'd use 'truck', never 'lorry')I do try to use present perfect as preferred in British English, so "I've already seen that" as opposed to "I already saw that" but I am probably not consistent in that either.
