Also recent research has shown alchohol is more damaging than many illegal drugs, the main reason no goverment would ban this being they get too much in taxes from it.

Also as someone eluded to earlier cannabis has many medicinal properties and is legal for medical use(here anyway), for example it is one of the only know substences that can relieve pain from MS.

Also i would like to point out that I smoke cannabis yet I'm not a "stupid stoner" neither would I suggest that people start smoking it, mainly because people tend to become dependant on it after a while(although this is not always the case and occasional use is usually fine).

While you may see it as pointless or even bad. That is your opinion and you reached such an opinion due to your different views on things, and skewed life perspective. If people want to do something with their time and money, who are you to deem it a waste if it does not affect anyone else but themselves?

I will agree that, clearly, my view is based upon a different system of values. However, I find that a poor reason to stop having an opinion on the matter and, in turn, sharing that opinion.

I'm not here to radically change lifestyles. This is the internet. Such an expectation would be unrealistic. However, I'd be satisfied to have one person consider for a moment that they could be doing something viewed as more productive for society and their lives.

Also, consider that while the action may be private, that the consequences of such an action may affect others. Shouldn't it considered selfish?

In the end, I suppose, you'll do as you please... So what does this matter?

As that other guy stated, you obviously are an idiot for making many generalizations, such as I am a drone who follows whatever the govt. says, based on me saying it's common sense not to do weed.  Ignoring that and even assuming you have a grasp of logic, doing weed, any kind of illegal drug, even alcohol is stupid, because all it does it render you useless for long periods of time, reduced reaction time, basically you become dangerous if you go out driving/doing anything even while high on weed.  That is why it's stupid, wasting money on something that has no use besides pleasure, and pleasure that's detrimental to others at the same time.

You're assuming that we believe it's stupid merely because the government says it is. I, for one, consider it to be a horrible waste of time and money. You could certainly put your resources to better use than getting stoned. I consider it stupid on the principle that you're wasting your money on a temporary chemical thrill.

Also, let's not ignore that possession is illegal. While you may not agree with possession laws (Hell, I don't even agree with them), you are still under the law's control.

Is there really a point? Escapism, rebellion, or fun. Not one of them is a good excuse.

By the way, the ellipsis can also be used to indicate a pause in speech. "Ellipses" is the plural of "ellipsis." Cherry321 only used one ellipsis. I'll leave it to you to arrive at your own conclusion regarding your use of the word.
