Well then it's apparent that new client won't be out.....zer doesn't seem to care much for the game even tho he still gets countless 15usd payments + the countless resets being bought......he still makes money off the game he needs to get the fuck involved or give someone else server rights to atleast upload new things to the client....

He does care about the game, the C and resets are just not enough to pay for his bills so he's currently doing other work to make some money but he is intending to go work on Faldon again once he can afford to do so. Whether or not he'll finish anything before the end of the century is another question but he does care about (the future) Faldon.

[...] when new client comes out?  If there is only 2 GMs now how much work do you really think would get done in the new client.....if new client were to arrive 2012, people would do what they do now....log in....see what's new...fuck around and if nothing more is  updated/improved after that, it will end up like the current server......I'm one who has always seem potential for this game just  don't see  it making a comeback anytime soon.

Whether Faldon will stand or fall will pretty much be determined by the involvement of one person. Zer.

He plays a key role in motivation for GMs. If GMs have to wait months or even years to get things changed on Faldon they'll get bored and lose motivation.

In the hypothetical situation where a new client/server are finished then Zer and the GMs would be working on the same thing. This would mean things get done faster and there will be more coorperation which should all be good for motivation.

That being said, two GMs working on Faldon in their spare time certainly isn't enough to create a mmorpg in any sort of acceptable timeframe.

Players creating houses and NPCs seems like something that could possibly be added at a later stage. Preventing abuse would be a major hurdle for such a thing. Would be cool though, to perhaps have plots of land of a few sectors on the map on which players could build their own house but I see some major difficulties in getting that to work properly.

It would be possible to create an NPC for PvP matches but the scripting is too limited to prevent abuse.

Exp requirements should definitely go up faster but as you say, it would need a fresh server.

I wasn't around when Agility was a stat so I can't really comment on that but I can tell you that in the new client Constitution seems to have been replaced with Agility. And yes, defense is completely useless at this moment.

Most of the game is geared towards warriors, mages are almost always left out a bit. I think it's probably a waste of time to try and fix the current system and instead a new system would have to be created and actually thought through properly.

Buyer's market is something we could consider but I'm not sure how much of it should be automated, if players can just put up 10k and wait for someone to sell their talisman it would take away some of the interaction between players.

I think the idea is that in the new client there won't be a broadcast anymore as it just won't work for 100+ players. Not entirely sure what the plans for the replacement system are.

News letters would be nice indeed but they'd have to be about things that are tangible for players in the near future, like quests or newly mapped areas etc.

Keyboard customization is a must indeed.

As far as I know Zer is writing the new client without using any OS specific features so I don't think it'd be too much work to get it to run on linux/mac.

And yes... this post is all new client/server. The current client/server are doomed =O
