Well, interestingly the word baka is made up of the kanji for horse and deer. Because apparently some powerful Chinese guy visited a king and gave him a deer as a gift but called it a horse. A discussion followed, so the Chinese guy killed the king, took his place and had all the officials who agreed with the king that it was definitely a deer killed off. =P
