I haven't heard anything from him, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he hasn't fixed it.

There's really only one way to test it and that is to try it. If it doesn't work you can file a dispute with PayPal and you should get your money back in like a month or you could just wait as you'll probably get what you paid for eventually.
