It's not the most glamorous feature to write but it's great for accessibility. Also, if mapping are done in a way that allow gamepad, that would be amazing.

Wasd movement, and mappable keys to control other things. M for map, I for inventory and that sort of stuff. Enter toggles chat. This is fairly standard now on most any PC game it's just more intuitive. One question would be, what picks up items? Because that's always been enter.
