Interesting. I was thinking a while back about how walls/terrain have internal/external sides. And, how auto placement might work. I wonder if you could select different sets for the Double-sided auto placement. For example using the desert cliff set on the outside, and brown cave inside. That has become fairly standard for how we make subterranean, or hollow portions of a mountain. As well as a solid "fill" for the portion of the cave that is solid? Just an idea.

Also I'd been meaning to make "internal" sets for buildings. So, you could use whichever exterior set you want like bricks, and then an interior set like wood panels or plaster or somethingt. An obstacle to this would be windows, and other features not aligning properly.

Yes. I realized I would do a lot more map editing if it weren't terrible to work with.

I love this feature. This used to be the most tedious part about map editing and it does it all automatically now .

Most of our wall sets are double-layer -- they have different walls for the negative and positive sides, so that their corners are at the sides of tiles, instead of in the middle. Today I got single-layer wall sets working in the map editor. This is a start. Double-layer will be more complicated.

February 25, 2026:
Single-layer "Wall Sets" (Anthill, Fortification, Mine) now work.
