Topic: Running Faldon on OSX: Part 2

Alright so I got wine and I can get Faldon to run on my Mac..but its upside down and backwards? I tried running it on win xp and win 98 bottles and failed. Anyone have any idea of what I should do now?

Get a pair of those glasses that make you see everything upside down and a mirror =p?

Is it it just Faldon that's upside down and backwards or all of windows?

Well when I press play the log in window is upside down and the text is backwards but the logos not. when i log in the interface windows are on the top and the actual game is upside down. When i tried to log out i had to find where the log out button was because the one i was clicking wasn't actually in the right spot. Not really sure what to do at this point lol.

I might have missed a previous conversation, but how come you don't just run Windows through Bootcamp?

If it's upside-down, however they are implementing DirectX on Wine they obviously have the origin backwards. It could be emulating using OpenGL, which puts the origin in 2D at 0,0 (down-left) instead of up-left like DirectDraw. If that's what they did, the fix is trivial. Report the bug to the Wine folks -- surely Faldon can't be the only game upside-down.

By the way, are you able to get discounted Macs then? I'll need to buy myself a Mac to compile the MacOS version when the new client is ready, so this is interesting to me. smile

I could definitely ask him about it lol. The Mac i got was supposed to be used to "test" the latest iLife but he just brought it home and gave it to me lol. Apple doesn't really release new software too often but if they do and their beta testing again i could definitely get you one. But I emailed them and they said to check their forums for anyone else who played Faldon and had this problem (which made me laugh) and their advice didn't help me at all.

If you press Command+Option+Control+8, it will reverse the video on your Mac's screen.
