Topic: New client release and server wipe

Lately, Zer and Wu have been putting in an incredible amount of work on the new client and related tools and the new client is now virtually days away from being ready for an official release.

After having a long and very heated discussion with both Zer and Wu about the new client and the current server Zer made the decision to wipe the current server. We realize that this is a different path than what we have previously announced but unfortunately it is absolutely necessary.
The new client brings some new features and changes that are not mergable with the current version so this is a necessary step in the preparation for the release of the new client. These changes include various new skills and new dimensions to the inner game mechanics. If we were to leave the old data in place Faldon would be even worse than what it is now.

Zer will be refunding all Cs and resets that were bought in the last three months. You can request a refund for any Citizen time over three months by yourself but this will not be done automatically.
Character and account names and passwords will be preserved so people cannot steal them after the server is wiped.

The server wipe will happen on April 28 2011.
After this there will be a two day period where Faldon will be offline so Zer can make the necessary changes to the server to accomodate the new client which will be released on the April 30 2011.
During this downtime Zer will put up the IRC server so the players will be able to communicate.

During the last few days of the current server and client everyone will be given an option to give his or her character max skills, stats and spells to go out with a boom.

We strongly believe that the new Faldon will be much better than the current version but we do realize that quite a few players will be saddened by this decision and may even quit Faldon altogether but it is in the best interest of Faldon to start off fresh with the release of the new client.

Yes, everything will be gone, you will be left with a level 1 character with 20 all stats, 1.00 all skills, no spells except for Holy Aura and no items except a few starter items.

Ok, if this is real, then its really good news and will be awsome. If its an April fools joke, then im dissapointed because it was not funny. A wipe should happen.

Its past noon PST, was this just an attempt at april fools humor?

Woot, now I won't spend anymore USD on this game... already spent over 280 in the past week. Lol. Makes me mad because I came up at the end. Which does nothing for me... But w/e. I've wasted some much money in my lifetime.

Heh, well it was an April fools joke.

There will not be a server wipe, we will just abandon the current server and leave it to rot once we get a new, fresh, server going.

Sadly, nope. The new client is not done yet and although it's much closer to completion than it has ever been before I'm guessing it's going to take Zer another while to finish it.

Congratulations, your still a moron that has nothing to say for himself after such a failed attempt at humor. Someone with a brain would of seen the forthcoming consequences of their actions and atleast posted "APRIL FOOLS" at the end of their thread. I think you owe apologies to a few players.
