Topic: Cought AFKing by a GM

Now, I know Ms cant do this, hell idk if a GM Can do this, but instead of just throwing someone in jail for like 200 days, i think this would work better, but i still think you should be jailed for afk camping tho, but lessen up the penalty, to like 10-20 days instead of 100-200 days. Now, here's my suggestion... If your caught afk lvling or raising a skill by a GM, i think that GM should, instead of jailing you, lower your skill down 10-20 points that you were training, or lower your lvl down 5 lvls or so, now idk if GMs can do this, but I Think this would work out better than just jailing somebody, and stopping there game play, and possibly all there C Time.

I used to lower the skills of repeat macroers, Magis.  I don't know if it is possible to lower their level, though.

It was definitely more effective in getting the chronic macroers to reform than simply jailing them for longer and longer, but then peasants started purposely getting caught macroing when they wanted one of their less useful skills to drop.  I had to start decreasing other skills in those cases.

Another tactic I took was to start punishing guilds whose members were problematic.  I found that some players wouldn't respond at all to what the Gms were saying, but if their guild leader told them to quit cheating they would do it.

Re: Cought AFKing by a GM

When i catch people afk macroing, i use the GM revertskill (playername) command that reverts players skills to their login values. Afk leveling we cant do shit about because theres no gm revertlevel (playername) command that reverts players exp lvl and stats to their login values   tongue

7.4.

I would suggest the addition of a command for that because i think it's a brilliant idea but that would require the game to actually get worked on and i doubt that will ever happen it is faldon after all tongue

Hmm.... Yeah i can see People afking on Ps just to lower a skill on purpose, but than again, you never truly know if there doing that or not. As for lvls, if you can't drop them a few lvls, than just lower whatever skill there raising while lvling, like if there using a Mstar, lower maces a few points, if there using an Arctic Blade, lower Axes and same thing with Swords, aswell as Zerk should they use that.

seeing as gm's would only be able to reverse to the latest login value, it wouldnt really do any big difference.
if someone is afk lvling he/she is most likely not moving the character, and therefor the skill will raise much slower.. perhaps in the whole period from the login - til the lets say 10 hour afk lvling - and logout, he would raise 0.2 in w.e weapon art he was using?

to the whole idea of lowering the jail period... this is just my opinion though...
i think its a bad idea. the only thing that could stop me from afk'ing back then, was the thought of being jailed for 30IRL days. if i knew i would only be jailed for lets say 3 days, that wouldnt stop me from afking. i could prlly get more lvls afking in the right timezone and get caught than to lvl legitimate for 3 days.
just saying.
