I don't even know who Jesse McCartney is. I was making fun of you for feeling obligated to TELL US that you indeed DO NOT listen to a specific brand of music, when nobody was saying you do. The fact that you would get so defensive about it only serves to further the notion that deep down, you really ARE a Jesse McCartney fan.

You know, saying that you listen to a "big range of metal" is by no means enhancing your status us a music connoisseur. I'm sure "Death McYellsalot" and "Yelly McDeathalot" have some very subtle differences that you easily recognize, but that certainly is not a very broad range on the spectrum of the medium.
Ignorance. You don't even know how many or what bands I listen to. All I can say is I listen to more genres than most of the population:

Just because almost all the genres I listen to have 'metal' at the end of the names, doesn't mean they are same at all. Download a song by Dream Theater then download one by Devourment. If you can't tell the massive difference, you are deaf.
For someone to be a legend, their character must be legendary. Requisite to the definition of legendary is that the reputation, creations, or stories of the legend precedes said character. I would submit that, if you were to do random surveying of almost any group of people, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who has ever heard of any of the aforementioned "artists". On the contrary, you would be even harder-pressed to find people who have NOT heard of a true legend: Beethoven, Mozart, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bob Marley, etc.
I said 'legends of metal'. Metal isn't mainstream, no one would know who they are of course. But if you ask anyone who isn't ignorant to metal, they would know what you are talking about if you mentioned Bathory.
To claim that "necrophagist" is legendary is, in essence, to rub your feces all over every pioneering musician whose contributions to the medium permeate all genres thereafter.
I said legends OR extreme talents of metal. They aren't legends of metal at all (yet) - they only have 2 albums. But it isn't possible to say they aren't talented.
The moral of the story, here, is that you should go back to crying while masturbating to dashboard confessional in a dark room, because thus far, by drawing attention to your unrefined taste in music, you've accomplished the exact opposite of your goal, and nothing more.

To take you out of your element. The point was to call into question your taste in music so that you would have no grounds on which to question OTHER people's music. It should be noted, though, that I still have no idea who Jesse McCartney is, or whether s/he is any good.

Faith No More, Pearl Jam, Metallica,Slayer, even Black Sabbath I can name about 50 bands from the 80's and 90's that where the foundation of Metal....But No because they dont posess the talent of some guy who started his career in 2003 then they just cant be true metal bands.
My point that you didnt understand is that there used to be very few category;s Metal-Rock-Pop-Jazz etc etc
Now you have Nu-Metal-Death Metal-Heavy metal-...Viking metal...the list goes on.

I never said they were bad. I like Metallica. But that excuse for an album, St. Anger, is the biggest load of shit ever. Listen to one of their first 3-4 albums then listen to St. Anger. You will see a distinct difference between good music and shit music.

Nu-metal and/or rapcore. Nu-metal is not considered 'real' metal by the way. They use rapping vocals at times and they have a DJ.

I don't really like classical or hard rock, but if I am talking to someone about music and they like that stuff, I will have more 'musical respect' towards them. There are many genres besides metal that I appreciate but I don't listen to. Pop and R&B I can't stand, but I don't really care if people listen to it - it's their choice if they want to listen to monotonous 'feel-good' music. But that hip-hop and rap shit, well frankly it's all bullshit and I never want to associate with the posers and ignorant fucks who create it. I realise there are some exceptions who actually like the little substance of music there is in rap and don't wear those chains and baggy clothes and other 'wear this item or you are not considered a cool rapper' type of item... but I have yet to meet one.
