Pennywise, you have noticed two things that I had. First that GP has become hard to come by since quite a few monsters have been stripped of their GP. Second, it seems C-benefits were promissed yet, I have not seen them. Well apart from the ones it started with, that is.
I had to come up with a solution for this, something, anything. Mainly to the first problem. Well, it is very difficult to change monsters and items, the time it takes to get an upload is far too long. Now while I could simply do updates and wait... and it would be better than never having a fix. However, if there is a problem with the update, I fear how long it will take to fix it.
So because of this, I came up with GEG. Something to help get some more GP circulating besides the millions locked away on the ladder characters who have long since quit. Also, it is C-only which gives Cs an edge on other players. Yes, it has a religion-specific zone never before seen in this game, but it also lacks things such as spells and has a much harder initiation.
As for the power-leveling, I agree it does support it, but I do not believe that this has anything to do with the GEG-zone, more with the religion. Obviously since players are able to get the 10 million+ exp required, they are already able to power-level. Also, most of the faster-moving levelers in GEG, I catch leveling outside.
The spawns however, I believe were needed. Creating these spawns has not only opened spawns for those that are in GEG, but for those outside too. For if people are in GEG spawns, they are not crowding others. And since GEG attracts the, "power levelers," it also means that they are less likely to hog the spawns of the everyday player like yourself.

I should have refreshed. All the same, Pennywise, I created GEG, there was my logic.
