Topic: NPCs

Ive noticed that Npcs only buy stuff when they have the gold for it and that most npcs go into hiding mode where they dont buy anything. With a tiny market and not many players interested in buying random stuff that npcs buy IE rodent furs and whatnot it might be advantagous to the economy to either allow NPCs to buy an unlimited number of things or at least set them so they stop saying "I'm sorry but I'm not buying things at the moment" because then u have a bunch of useless stuff like... 14k pfeathers that will take you forover to sell all of. I just think it might make it easier and more efficient so people could spend more time getting the drops and not sellling them so that would stabalize the economy because people wouldnt have lots of stuff laying around in thier bank characters. Well I rambled alot. Plus it would make it easier for n3wbz because they are constantly asking on the weekend why wont lorelei buy my stuff?

Honestly that would take the edge off of alot of ppl to not have n3wz clogging up the bchat.
Though I dont mind answerin them

Re: NPCs

Well, part of the issue with vendors is that we don't control whether they need to have gold or not.  That is something built in to the server code.  Our only option would be to write a custom buying script, which can be done mind you.  The problem is that it could be abused and would need to be redone for every vendor in game that we want to buy anything.

Re: NPCs

Well, I don't like the idea of people selling 14k pfeathers anyway. This client has had too much previous duping. Because of this many items float around in high-qualities. I don't want these sold. If you are leveling, you should be able to level, then sell the stuff. Especially at a low-level, which is who I wanted the NPCs to buy from anyway. High-levels can simply move to blue-dragons and such if they want more GP. Blues seem to drop more GP than any other monster.
