Topic: Chat crashes during long sessions

I’ve seen three instances where, after being left running for a very long time, I typed a few things in chat, which caused the entire client to freeze and hang forever.  I have to shut down the process so no crash logs are being created.

This is generally after being logged on for unnatural periods of time 10+ hours to days.  Maybe it’s holding onto days worth of chat logs, causing it to crash?  It’s always after I type something, though.  It sends and displays chat, but completely freezes after that.

Update.  Getting crashes while playing now.  Normally, it’s when I am in a dungeon leveling, but it’s happened in four different ones, so it’s not zone specific.  I do use a script to alternate between spamming 2 ability and eating from 1 hotkey.  Old man hands.  It’s not going at an obscene rate - one skill and one food per second, so I’m not flooding the game with commands.

The game will work for about 20 minutes, then freeze and hard crash with no crash log.

Ugh. No crash log, that's going to be much harder to figure out. Keyboard or mouse movement?

Mouse movement.  Just a pycharm script hitting 1 key, 2 key and space button.  It’s been at high as a 2 second key delay between key presses and it’s little more than a send key command.  I’m always using berserker skills and healing elixir.  As I recall, the crashes have happened while not in combat.  It happened in the dragon cave on main map, dire wolf cave on main map, hell serpent cave on main map and dragon cave by Midgard.

Screen will hang and go faded white until windows asks to close the process.  Can’t close or interact with the game window in any way when this occurs.  It has happened on both my desktop and laptop PC.

I’ll update if I can think of any more details

James,

Chat is unbounded - it can grow infinitely an likely should be truncated at a limit.

Re: Chat crashes during long sessions

Have not crashed after playing for a bit!  Awesome!

I DID have one weird thing that I've never seen, though.  I was in a dragon cave and I started taking damage and died with no monster on screen and nothing that should have been there(empty space).  It said I was killed by a green dragon.  I went back to check it out and there was nothing there or on the mini map...only my pile of stuff at the appropriate spot.  The only green dragon in the area is far away and I had killed multiple monsters since I had last killed the green dragon.  Checked green dragon spot and it was in the appropriate spot where it spawns.

*EDIT*  definitely something new going on with that green dragon.  it got me from across the map from the opposite direction this time.  Looks like after it spawns, the game behaves like its next to the player attacking, but it is in it's normal spawn.  it's not a lag issue, because you can interact with other monsters and ground items.

Never seen this before the patch and twice in the same night today

Bump for this one still happening.  I dont have the ability to go to all green dragon spawns, but the one on map 4, (487,323) is still going rogue at respawn and is killing me.

From my best guess, something is happening on spawn that makes the game think my player is next to it.

*Edit*  Hey I actually survived the invisible onslaught!  It looks like maybe, on spawn, it's targeting me with poison cloud.  Once I survive all the DoT ticks, everything seems fine.  Interesting thing is it seems to be able to do it across maps as I had it happen to me all the way in Valour by the repair guy  lol

Do not know if it's connected, but this started happening around the time you fixed the crashes involving monster movement.
