Re: Webpage

You can use Freewebs, Geocities, VillagePhotos (For Photos) and I forgot the last place. Also there are some decent hosters if you google search free website. They aren't relliable but still, better then nothing.

I love u

Re: Webpage

Do not use Geocites or any of those other pieces of crap. Find someone to host a subdomain for you, redirect with CJB if the url is too long, and use a program such as SmartFTP to upload the HTML files.

Re: Webpage

By the way Dreamweaver has a horrible horrible user interface...I suggest Frontpage if you can get it. It can do all the same things but its much easier to manage.

Re: Webpage

I dont know what you guys are talking about...I have used both Dreamweaver and Frontpage 2003 a lot and Frontpage can do everything that Dreamweaver can only its a lot easier to do. Dreamweavers user interface is horrible. It makes doing the simplest tasks long and annoying.

Re: Webpage

I suggest notepad. Notepad and similar programs are the most commonly
used programs when doing web-development (Amongst the serious
web-developers)

If you happen to have Linux, KEdit is quite nice IMO.

Re: Webpage

If you actually know how to write html then i dont recommend Dreamweaver or frontpage because ive found editing these later in notepad is a horrible experience.

But frontpage or dreamweaver either is fine as its all just drag drop.

www.geocities.com you can sign up and get an account and go to the file manager and upload all your website files.

Filenames are Case Sensitive when uploaded to the internet. Also your main startup page needs to be called index.html

Or if this is all too difficult...zip the files, email it to me and ill upload it for you.

Re: Webpage

You should only do html if you know how to do it nicely...otherwise you end up with something like this:

www.veega.cjb.net

Doesn't look nearly as good as what a 10 year old good do with ANY webpage builder.

That was kind of a cheap shot there... I say do HTML whether you know it
well or not. That is how you learn. Make your page in a page editor if you
must, but play with HTML still. Learn it, and migrate to notepad as soon
as you can. Look into CSS and XML as well. XML will take you about
5 seconds to learn. CSS a little longer, but the two combined with
your HTML pages will allow you to do some nice things.

I suppose that you are all knowlegable about EVERYTHING. I could question you on things that your knowledge is not so good on and then shoot you down for it.

You honestly have no idea how right you are...hmmm

To ponder or not to ponder... :?:

No it wasn't. I have nothing against Veega or his webpage but what I said is true. Anybody with any webpage builder can make a site better than his. I applaud him for using html and actually learning to use it, but I won't deny the simple facts. Unless you plan on spending some time learning html, you are better off using a webpage builder.

Re: Webpage

If you don't know much about HTML, you go to a nice looking site and right click > view source, copy / paste it and go to www.echoecho.com, get some basic knowledge about HTML then change everything around. I did it once and it looked nice. Note: if the site has flash animations and stuff you have to get rid of it and make your own so gg.

That's the most correct thing prudence has ever said.

Modern cyberspace is a deadly festering swamp, teeming with dangerous programs such as''licensed Microsoft software'' that can take over your computer and render it useless.
