Topic: Question about sprite layering.

I was messing around with the new build and I started thinking about that new mouseover effect that creates (what looks like) vector lines around the various layers of character art.  Is the client currently capable of having varying levels of opacity within the art layers?  Combining the vector line effect with varying layer opacity could create all kinds of really good looking visual effects.

Right now it puts together all the layers using the graphics card, so yes, each piece of art can have separate draw code. What kind of effects are you thinking?

You could have a spectre, for example.  If you had less opacity on the top layers and a layer that gets drawn underneath to trace for the vector outline.  The vector outline could be made to look like a pseudo bone rigging and you would get something similar to this effect.

You could also do solid armor on an translucent model to create an interesting look to creatures.  Like a ghost being contained by armor.
